Our seasoned corn kernels will deliver a flavor explosion to your palate. The corn kernels we use are particularly large and come from the USA, where they are called "Giant Corn." They're seasoned with a delicious BBQ seasoning, giving them a spicy and smoky taste.
Characteristics:
- Size and appearance:
• Giant corn kernels are significantly larger than regular corn kernels. They often have a thicker and firmer texture, giving them a more substantial and hearty flavor. These kernels usually come from special varieties of corn bred for snacking.
- Texture and taste:
• The texture of Giant Corn kernels is often thicker and crispier than regular corn. When roasted or processed, they retain a rich, nutty flavor.
The flavor is also more intense and is often described as savory and slightly sweet. Roasted versions acquire an additional, pleasant roasted aroma through preparation.
• Snacks: Giant Corn is often offered in the form of roasted corn snacks. These snacks are available in many varieties—with or without seasoning, salted or unsalted, and also in various flavors such as paprika or cheese.
• Ingredients: They can be eaten as a snack or used in cereals, salads or even as an ingredient in baked goods.
• Popcorn: In some cases, the large corn kernels are also used as a base for popcorn, as their size and texture can produce an interesting form of popcorn.
Nutrients:
• Carbohydrates: Corn is rich in carbohydrates, which provide a quick source of energy.
• Fiber: Corn kernels also contain fiber, which helps promote digestion.
• Vitamins and minerals: Corn also provides B vitamins, especially vitamin B1 (thiamine) and vitamin B3 (niacin), which are important for energy metabolism. It also contains magnesium and potassium, which are important for the functioning of the nervous and cardiovascular systems.
Allergens:
• Corn is generally not a common allergen, but in very rare cases, some people may develop a corn allergy, which may be accompanied by symptoms such as skin rashes or digestive problems.
Using Giant Corn Snacks:
- Snack for in between:
• Roasted Giant Corn kernels make a great healthy snack, offering a crunchy texture and delicious flavor. They're often a good alternative to chips or other salty snacks.
- Ingredients for salads or muesli:
• Giant Corn can also be used in salads or as a topping for cereal to add extra crunch and an interesting flavor.
- Popcorn and bars:
• These corn kernels are also often used in popcorn or energy bars because their size and texture allow for a different type of snack.
Giant Corn offers a nutritious and delicious way to enjoy corn in a new way, whether as a snack or as an ingredient in various dishes.
